The opening session will present the themes and set the scene for this year's renewed European Association Summit format. EAS2023 takes place in the context of the European Years of Skills (2023) and Youth (2022-2023) and links up with the blue (digitalisation) and green (sustainability) transitions taking place in Europe and beyond. The key themes for the 11th edition of the EAS are empowerment, diversity, and, more generally, professionalisation in the context of multiple new trends in association management.
Elisabeth Van Ingelgem, Director for Strategy and International at visit.brussels, will sketch the key role Brussels plays and aims to play for European and international associations. Furthermore, some representatives of EAS key partners, together with EAS2023 NextGen association leaders, will contribute to the opening session with multiple pointers on what's to come during the next two days. The opening session will end with an interactive exercise allowing all participants to formulate and share their expectations for this event.
