General terms and conditions of sale

ARTICLE 1 - Identification and general information

1.1 Eat Festival is an event organised by visit.brussels (hereinafter "visit.brussels"), whose registered office is located at Rue Royale/Koningsstraat 2-4, 1000 Brussels.

1.2 The purchase of an admission card as well as the purchase of credits via the visit.brussels reservation service implies the unreserved acceptance by the customer (hereinafter "the Customer") of all the provisions of these General Conditions (hereinafter "the Conditions"). 

1.3 The event takes place on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 September 2023 from 6pm to 11pm and on Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October 2023 from 12pm to 8pm. Entrance to the Event is via the main entrance of the Gare Maritime located at Rue Picard/Picardstraat, 11, 1000 Brussels. All entrances are accessible by bike or on foot. Two underground "pay and display" car parks are available at the following addresses:  Rue Picard/Picardstraat 13 and Avenue du Port/Havenlaan 86C, 1000 Brussels.

1.4 The fact that visit.brussels does not avail itself of a provision of the Conditions at a given time shall not be interpreted as a waiver of that provision.

Article 2 – Terms and Conditions

The Client does not have the right to withdraw from the purchase.

2.1. Access to the festival is only possible with an individual ticket, which can be purchased in advance or at the festival ticket offices. If you are accompanied by minors, they do not need a ticket for the event.

2.2. The purchase of an entrance ticket includes your personal access during the 4 days.

2.3. The festival is cashless. This means that you will need a card loaded with credits to buy food or drinks. The credits are valid throughout the festival, except for the Producers' Market, and will be your only means of payment.

2.4. Unless otherwise stipulated by visit.brussels, the entrance to the event is via the entrance of the Gare Maritime located at Rue Picard/Picardstraat, 11, 1000 Brussels. The event takes place in the Gare Maritime.

2.5. Since this is a remote contract for the provision of catering and leisure services and in accordance with the Royal Decree of 18 November 2002, the Client does not have a right of withdrawal as provided for in article 47 of the Law of 6 April 2010 on market practices and consumer protection. 

2.6. Refunds are only made online, no refunds are made at the festival ticket offices. Keep your card number, go to the website and fill in the refund form.

2.7. Refund requests can be submitted between 02 October 2023 and 14 October 2023. After this date, unused credits will no longer be refunded. Only unused credits will be refunded. A €1 transaction fee will be deducted per refund transaction. No refunds on freebies, free credits or entry. Minimum refund value: 2€.

2.8. In the event of cancellation of one or several event dates due to force majeure (bad weather, epidemics, pandemics, demonstrations, terrorist acts threatening the safety of visitors, transport or supply chains blocked for any reason whatsoever, earthquake, fire, storm, flooding, IT systems or telecommunications failure, etc.), the reservation may be refunded, in accordance with the following conditions:

  • Cancellation at least ten working days before the date of the experience: 100% refund.
  • Cancellation at least five working days before the date of the experience: 50% refund.
  • Cancellation up to three working days before the date of the experience and up to the date of the experience: no refund possible.

2.9. Smoking and vaping is prohibited within the Gare Maritime and at the Eat Festival event. In addition, no food or drink other than that served during the event is permitted. 

Article 3 – Liability

3.1. visit.brussels cannot be held liable in the event of delay, failure or interruption of the service due to force majeure and/or events beyond visit.brussels' control.

3.2. visit.brussels cannot be held liable for the behaviour of guests during an experience.

3.3. visit.brussels cannot be held liable for any loss or damages (direct, indirect, tangible or intanglible) suffered during an experience. The same applies to any theft or loss that may occur before or during the event.

Article 4 – Prices

4.1 The price of an entry ticket is €20 per person and includes a freebies package.

4.2. The package of freebies includes : access to the festival for all four days , one EAT souvenir glass, one glass of the Bordeaux wine of your choice, one activity at the Bordeaux Wine School, one Masalto coffee, free water at the Aqualex water bar, one cocktail tasting, of your choice, at the Wild Drinkz stand, one Gimber lemonade tasting, one dish

4.3. The festival is cashless. To buy drinks, you will need "Food & Drink" credits on your card. 1 credit = 1€.

Article 5 – Miscellaneous

5.1. The Client acknowledges and accepts that the FAQs form an integral part of the Conditions and that they are incorporated by way of reference. The FAQs can be changed at any time by visit.brussels.

5.2. The Conditions are intended to apply exclusively to the reservation and use of the menu, to the exclusion of other visit.brussels products, which are subject to the general conditions of use relating thereto.

Article 6 - Invalid clauses, applicable law and jurisdiction

6.1. Should all or part of one of the aforementioned provisions be shown to be invalid, null and void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions of the Conditions shall not be invalidated and shall remain in force. A provision that is entirely or partially invalid, null and void or unenforceable shall be deemed not to have been written. visit.brussels undertakes to replace such a provision with another one that shall, as far as possible, fulfil the same function. 

6.2. The Conditions are exclusively governed, interpreted and applied in accordance with Belgian law. The courts of Brussels have exclusive jurisdiction.
