Ambrose Akinmusire is one of the few artists who manages to take ownership of musical universes as varied as classical, hip-hop and jazz with such ease. His unorthodox approach to sound and composition earned him a great collaboration with the leading Blue Note label. In the music of this virtuoso American trumpeter, the layers are superimposed without ever neglecting the narrative dimension which bewitches the listener in this trio collaboration with two very high-flying compatriots: guitarist Bill Frisell, long-time partner of John Zorn and Paul Motian, and drummer Herlin Riley, member of Wynton Marsalis’s Lincoln Jazz Orchestra. Beauty, lyricism and intensity will be the watchwords of this concert.
