Every year, the association "The Friends of the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides” organizes a gala concert at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. Usually organized on the occasion of King's day, the 2023 concert will celebrate the tenth anniversary of His Majesty the King's reign. It will be given at 8 p.m. on Tuesday 14 November 2023 in the Henry Le Boeuf concert hall. Ten years of reign! That can't go unnoticed! The Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides, initially the King's Private Band, is offering you an exceptional programme to give this event the musical honour it deserves! During this musical journey, the band will introduce you to some unexpected works to celebrate 10 years of reign including a special tribute. To round off the first part, the band will be joined by Anneleen Lenaerts, a world-famous Belgian star, considered by many to be the best harpist of the moment and soloist with the Vienna Philharmonic. She has enthusiastically agreed to play solo with the Guides and to perform the concerto that her brother, composer Wouter Lenaerts, composed especially for this occasion. This light and festive harp concerto, which will be performed as a world premiere, will illustrate the musical aspect of this royal anniversary and will also allow the soloist to showcase her exceptional talent in her own country. Program: La Brabançonne, Fr. Van Campenhout Ouverture royale, Julien et Vitaly Jardon Orb and Sceptre, Sir William Walton Royal Concerto for Harp and wind band (world premiere), Wouter Lenaerts Soloist: Anneleen Lenaerts, Harpist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Pause Music for the Royal Fireworks, Georg Friedrich Händel Cadences de cavalerie : au pas, au trot, au galop, Arthur Prevost Libertadores, Oscar Navarro Pas-redoublé, Gioachino Rossini March of the 1st Guides Regiment, Jean-Valentin Bender
