He was a founding member of the National Youth Orchestra of Venezuela (Simon Bolivar), which he accompanied on tours of South America and Europe, notably under the baton of conductor and composer José Antonio Abreu. At the age of 18, José Vicente Torres continued his training at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels. There he obtained first prize and a higher diploma in violin in Lola Bobesco's class and in chamber music in André Siwy's class. Since then, in addition to concerts and recitals as a soloist, José Vicente Torres has taught the art of the violin, developing his own teaching project.
