For the twentieth anniversary of his company, ZOO, choreographer Thomas Hauert has created a piece to pay tribute to the abundant creativity of his collaborators, some of whom have been by his side since the very beginning. Together they are inspired by Maori hakas, the model of the recitative choir or the rituals of charivari to counter the feeling of helplessness in the face of injustice, to draw strength from and express a form of revolt. Essential to the piece, Mauro Lanza’s original music gives a physical and sensual materiality to this moving work. Hauert takes into a powerful trompe-l'oeil where words express a bustling anger in the face of the world’s excesses. This incredible shape-shifting dialogue weaves together everyone's inventiveness into a fascinating tribute to complexity. 20€ / 16€ / 12€
