As part of the centenary of the birth of Pol Bury (1922-2005), the Centre de la Gravure et de l’Image imprimée offers a fascinating insight into the world of this international art star, who was born in La Louvière. The exhibition allows us to see to what extent, throughout his life, the world of print has been present. Fascinated by movement, he sought to translate this infinite quest at the heart of his work as a sculptor onto paper. The forms slide, spread and transform. On two floors of the museum, the graphic work dialogues with a selection of sculptures. We discover a man eager to discover, a tireless researcher inventing ways to produce new images: cuts, twists, atypical uses of presses. A sparkling, inventive, ingenious work that is much more sensitive than it appears.
