The BizArt Ensemble is a wind quintet founded by five musician friends from various Belgian royal conservatories. After having participated together in various musical projects, they decided to unite around their common passion for chamber music, particularly for the vast and varied repertoire dedicated to the wind quintet. What links Mozart with wind ensembles? In the 18th century, you could hear excerpts from operas (the popular music of the time) in arrangements for various wind ensembles on every street corner. This Harmoniemusik was all the rage in the 1780s, especially in Vienna, but also in Prague and Budapest. Mozart's tunes were, of course, among the biggest hits! Fully in tune with this grand 18th century tradition, the Bizart Ensemble takes great pleasure in sharing their music with the widest possible audience by offering rich and varied programmes, sometimes stepping off the beaten track.
