What Yuko Says Almost three years of disasters had forced us to be isolated and divided. During this time, I have come to understand firsthand that there is definitely an air between us, an air that I had known in my head, but had not been aware of sensibly, and that this air fills the space between us. In the past three years, we have worn filters - masks - to prevent us from inhaling the small viruses floating in the air. This was to protect each of us individually and to protect others. But surely it also separated our minds. Now I feel the gratitude of breathing the same air. This exhibition consists of works depicting air. The invisible thing called air exists concretely. It may be an abstract painting, but it depicts something very concrete. I paint the invisible. I want to express the touch of air.
