Under the dominant gaze of the European Parliament, place du Luxembourg - nicknamed place Lux - is an after-work spot for the collaborators, assistants, parliamentarians and lobbyists who work in and around the European Quarter. This square takes its name from Brussels-Luxembourg station, whose old building stands on one of its sides (the current station is accessible via an adjacent street). The square is especially colourful at the end of the day and in the evening, especially on Thursdays, when the terraces and cafés are literally taken over by the active, multilingual European youth. The district's cosmopolitan nature is evident and you can enjoy various European gastronomies in and around the square, with Italian, Polish, Luxembourgish restaurants... You can pretty much do a tour of Europe here.
