We should not forget that Hergé (1907-1983) had two other offspring in addition to Tintin: Quick and Flupke. These two are the opposite of Tintin. They’re subversive rather than role models. They don’t go to the four corners of the world to have their adventures but stay in the Marolles, the working-class district where Hergé grew up. Quick, the one in the red turtle-neck sweater and Flupke, in the green jacket, are always causing problems with their tricks and, as a general rule, running up against the law.
