When the sun is out, Brussels’ terraces show us what they’re all about. They are discreet and confidential, they are trendy, they have a southern flair, they are cool next to the water, or they offer fantastic views of the city.

A drink with colleagues, a brunch with friends, a romantic table for two... any reason to relax and spend these beautiful days on a terrace in Brussels is a good one. Bring your sunglasses!

Tip: check out the information regarding the opening conditions and possible mandatory reservation of your favourite terrace.

Chalet Robinson

After a long history, Chalet Robinson has been restored to its former glory, and still welcomes plenty of families in an exceptional setting. Eat a waffle or a pancake on the island, which can be reached by ferry. They also have an interesting assortment of Belgian beers. The menu has been revised to highlight various seasonal products and poultry, including from the Gers region. Deckchairs are also available for guests. It’s the perfect place to relax in the fresh air, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Terrace of the Sofitel Louise Hotel

The decorators have decorated the interior walls of this 5-star hotel with a rather original orientalist structure. An unexpected meeting of design and tradition. The sublime terrace of Sofitel Louise, with seating for up to 100 guests, is the ideal place to relax in the upper part of town. Its tables and armchairs surrounding the Zen fountain invite you to relax. The only perceptible sound comes from the nearby bell tower.

Alice Restaurant & Cocktail Bar

The know-how and audacity of the new chefs have put Rouge Tomate on the right track! The place is now called Alice Restaurant & Cocktail Bar, but the "healthy" philosophy that has always guided the composition of the menu remains unchanged. Everything is in perfect harmony with the contemporary decoration of this superb mansion. And the restaurant’s main attraction is its impressive terrace, complete with a cocktail bar. Huge, beautiful and partially covered and heated, it's a wonderful place to meet for a drink or dinner.

The Dominican

The hotel’s name refers to the Dominican cloister that existed on this very spot in the 15th century. Traces of this religious past are still present in the structure of the Dominican. This elegant hotel has a serene atmosphere that invites you to meditate. Its contemporary decoration is designed to turn this place into an icon of the Brussels hotel scene. Its interior garden is a small haven of peace, where you can relax and enjoy your lunch, drink or dinner around its emblematic fig tree.

This French restaurant is located in a beautiful mansion in the heart of the Brugmann neighbourhood. The interior layout is certainly worth a visit, but it is the sumptuous terrace that really stands out. Here, you can make yourself at home in an outdoor environment that is unique in Brussels.

Humphrey (chez PIAS)

Located in the same building as the record company PIAS, Humphrey offers a cuisine tinged with Filipino influences and modernity, with a street food inspired menu. The restaurant has a very pleasant back terrace, a real island of serenity in the middle of the city, which awaits you with parasols, blankets and heaters. As you can see, they’re prepared for all types of weather.
