Touristic coach parking

Organised parking for tourist coaches in Brussels

To enable visitors to make the most of the Capital, the Brussels-Capital Region and the City of Brussels, in consultation with the Belgian Federation of Bus and Coach Operators and Travel Organisers (FBAA), organise parking for tourist coaches in Brussels.

Low Emission Zone

Since January 1st 2018, in order to improve air quality and therefore public health, the use of the most polluting vehicles is prohibited in the Brussels LEZ (Low Emission Zone). The regulation affects cars, vans ≤ 3.5 tonnes, and buses and coaches, whether registered in Belgium or abroad.

Visit the official website of the Brussels LEZ to check if your vehicle can circulate within the Low Emission Zone.

Parking areas

Tourist coaches or buses are part of the high volume of traffic in the city centre’s streets. Many coaches park in popular tourist areas such as the Grand-Place, the European district, Heysel Stadium and more. This creates a real problem in terms of space in the districts affected and in terms of routes between them. The Regional Development Plan (PRD) includes parking facilities for short-stay and long-stay parking, with spaces reserved for coaches.

Short-stay (max 30 minutes)

In parking zones for short stops, buses may thus park up to 30 minutes. In these places tourists can quickly be dropped off and/or picked up.
  • Boulevard de Berlaimont (near Central Station) – 1000 Brussels: 8 parking spaces
  • Avenue du Centenaire – 1020 Brussels: 3 parking spaces

Medium-stay (max 5 hours)

In the parking zones for medium stops, a bus may park up to 5 hours. These zones allow to park while visiting an event, site or attraction.
  • Rue Ducale (alongside the Parc of Brussels) – 1000 Brussels: 4 parking spaces
  • Avenue de Bouchout (behind Mini-Europe) – 1020 Brussels: 14 parking spaces
  • Boulevard Pachéco – 1000 Brussels: 12 parking spaces
  • Avenue de Madrid – 1020 Brussels: 5 parking spaces
  • Quai de Willebroeck (near Yser metro station) – 1000 Brussels: 4 parking spaces
  • Boulevard Poincaré / Boulevard de l'Abattoir – 1000 Brussels: 16 parking spaces
Long stop (more than 5 hours)
In parking zones for long stops, buses may park longer than 5 hours. These zones allow to park overnight.
  • Avenue de Madrid – 1020 Brussels: 5 parking spaces
  • Quai de Willebroeck (near Yser metro station) – 1000 Brussels: 6 parking spaces
