Forget the traditional convention centre on the outskirts of the city. With Brussels Convention Street, Brussels is embracing a new model: with multiple event venues around the Mont des Arts coming together to form a single hub dedicated to international conferences and business events. This is a collaboration between SQUARE, BOZAR, the KBR, the BELvue Museum and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts, amongst others. Together, they are making their spaces available so that a single conference can be spread across several sites, all within walking distance of one another.

A convention district rather than a single venue

The concept behind the Brussels Convention Street is simple. Right in the heart of the city centre, a number of venues lie within just a few minutes’ walk of one another. Together, they offer over 25,000m² of event space, 42 meeting rooms and a capacity of up to 9,000 delegates. What’s more, there are nearly 7,000 hotel rooms, renowned restaurants and must-see tourist attractions within a five-minute walk. This is a major advantage for multi-day events and conferences hosting international participants.

The strength of this partnership lies in the complementary nature of the venues. Your event could begin with a plenary session at the SQUARE, continue with smaller, more intimate gatherings in a heritage building, enjoy a networking lunch in a cultural setting, and conclude with a reception in a museum. Everything is close by, flows seamlessly, and is designed to form a coherent whole. Around the Mont des Arts, a versatile conference district is taking shape, where organisers can be flexible whilst allowing participants to immerse themselves in the city’s atmosphere.

Intelligent, compact and bursting with charm

With this innovation, Brussels is responding effectively to current market demands. The Brussels Convention Street initiative combines seamless logistics, flexible layouts, professional facilities, sustainable transport and venues steeped in history and culture. This project enables Brussels to strengthen its position as a leading international destination for conferences and business events.
