Brussels consistently ranks among the world’s top MICE destinations. As the capital of Europe, home to the largest hub of international associations and number one in the UIA rankings, it offers compact, accessible and internationally connected venues set against a backdrop of heritage and architecture. In 2026, the city remains a prime meeting place, with a mix of well-established conferences and a fresh wave of business events.

Here’s a month-by-month guide to the key happenings you won’t want to miss.

January kicks off the year with a bang. The 18th European Space Conference gathers leaders from across Europe to discuss the future of space policy and innovation at Square. Meanwhile, the Belgian Society of Cardiology Congress returns to Brussels Expo for its 45th edition. The congress unites healthcare professionals around the latest in cardiovascular care.

February brings the Road Transport Research Conference back for its 9th edition at The Egg. The conference offers a window into the latest EU-funded and Horizon Europe projects in road transport.

Turn the quiet season into your highlight.

January, February and August are the perfect months for events in Brussels. The calendar is typically less crowded, which gives organisers better conditions, more competitive rates and greater choice. Spreading events across the year keeps hotels and local businesses active, while participants get to experience the city at a more relaxed pace.

March sees the long-standing ISICEM event return to Square, attracting thousands of critical care specialists since the 1980s. The European Employment & Social Rights Forum addresses labour market challenges, while newcomers like the Leaders in Logistics Summit put Europe’s e-commerce operations into sharp focus at The Egg.

April celebrates a decade of progress at the European Aligner Society Congress, drawing clinicians, researchers and industry leaders from across the globe to Square.

May is a busy month. TransformIT Europe promotes green technology adoption at Brussels Expo, while CPDP at Tour & Taxis remains the benchmark for data protection and privacy professionals. New arrivals include the EIT RawMaterials Summit at The Egg, the Instruct Biennial Structural Biology Conference at the Marriott Hotel Grand Place and the 32nd AIAA/CEAS Aeroacoustics Conference at the VUB Main Campus, all offering platforms for scientific collaboration. The month concludes with the 17th European Glaucoma Society Congress at Square.

June keeps the momentum going. The Textiles Recycling Expo sparks conversations on sustainable fashion, while coffee lovers flock to World of Coffee in Brussels Expo for a caffeine-fuelled industry meetup. It's one of the largest business events of the year, with over 5,000 attendees. Innovation takes centre stage at The Egg during CIRED 2026 Brussels Workshop. And of course, Pride Month brings the European LGBTQI+ Choir Festival, adding music, culture and a generous splash of joy to the calendar.

August focuses on economic research with the IARIW General Conference 2026. Hosted by the National Bank of Belgium. The event brings together experts in income and wealth studies to share the latest findings and trends.

September’s calendar features the 56th Annual Congress of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT), a major gathering for professionals and researchers in evidence‑based psychological therapies at Square. The Odoo Experience returns to Brussels Expo, highlighting tech and business innovation.

October is one of Brussels’ busiest months. European Hydrogen Week hosts industry leaders at Brussels Expo to explore the future of sustainable energy. The ESGC Conference continues its tradition of scientific exchange at The Plaza. Specialist gatherings such as IKAF-ISAKOS at Le Plaza and ED Tech Conference highlight innovation in orthopaedics and education technology. The European Week of Regions and Cities connects policymakers and experts from across Europe.

November sees the growing FARI Conference take place at Flagey, now in its 5th edition, exploring AI, robotics and data management. Later in the month, the IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress returns to Square, maintaining its status as Europe’s must-attend event for privacy professionals. Also taking place that month is the Furniture Fair at Brussels Expo, one of Europe’s long-running furniture trade fairs.

With a strong lineup of both established and emerging events, Brussels continues to lead as a global MICE destination, driving innovation and collaboration in key sectors.
