The objectives

  • The Bike friendly label guarantees a warm welcome, quality services and appropriate equipment for customers, visitors and cyclists interested in discovering Brussels by bicycle. 

  • The label helps to reassure cycle tourists, particularly ones from abroad, about the quality of the services available to them, with a view to facilitating their cycle journeys. The label extends the customer experience in Belgium ('Bienvenue Vélo' in Wallonia) and internationally: 'Bett + Bike', 'Fietsers Welkom!' (NL), 'Accueil Vélo' (FR), 'Welcome Cyclists' (CH, HU), 'Bienvenue cyclistes! (QC)…

  • The label offers you increased visibility thanks to visit.brussels' promotion of "Bike friendly" accommodation and visibility on websites such as EuroVelo Belgium or EuroVelo.com, but also improved exposure when it comes to press office requests, cycle roadbooks, cycle tourism leaflets and in many other media. 

  • The label is free and easy to implement with minimal financial investment. 

  • The label will help you to develop your business, thanks to the high purchasing power of this type of tourism. 

  • The label shows that you are part of a sustainable tourism approach.  

  • The label connects you with a series of players involved in the same cycle tourism sector and enables you to share similar experiences. 

For whom ?

Tourist accommodation (hotels, youth hostels, bed and breakfasts, etc.).

How to obtain the label?

Are you an accommodation provider interested in applying for the label?

  1. Please review the criteria and let us know of your interest using the form below.
  2. Pro Velo, which is responsible for the management of the label, will contact you to arrange a visit of your establishment and check that you meet the criteria.
  3. You commit to 3 years after being awarded the ‘Bike friendly’ label.
  4. You will be given a Plexiglas 'Bike friendly' sign to highlight the fact that your establishment is bike-friendly. You commit to displaying it.
  5. You can use the 'Bike friendly' logo on your online and paper communication tools.
  6. That's it, you're now a 'Bike friendly' accommodation provider!
