The Good Food Restaurant Label

The Good Food Resto Label aims to support and guide hospitality establishments engaged in a sustainable approach. It meets the expectations of both Brussels residents and visitors who wish to identify sustainable establishments in the capital. Coordinated by Bruxelles Environnement – Leefmilieu Brussel, the label is awarded for non-commercial purposes.

Objectives

The label supports and promotes hospitality establishments committed to sustainability. Through a series of criteria, restaurateurs can have their efforts officially recognised and showcased to their customers – such as using local and seasonal products, offering vegetarian options and reducing food waste. Restaurant owners also benefit from tailored support, not only during the labelling process but also afterwards to help them further improve their practices.

The benefits of the Good Food Resto Label

  • It helps identify restaurants engaged in a sustainable approach.

  • Adopting Good Food practices can help reduce certain costs: home-made products (drinks, sauces, bread, etc.), less food waste and more.

  • The label provides access to support for evolving practices (training sessions, workshops, personalised advice).

  • Being certified as a Good Food restaurant grants access to regional financial support for exemplary businesses.

Who is it for?

The label is open to all types of hospitality establishments: social or hotel restaurants, fast food or traditional dining, restaurants in sports complexes, food trucks and high-end or Michelin-starred restaurants. Takeaway counters and catering services may also be eligible.

How to obtain the label

The full procedure, useful documents and the free support request form are available on the label’s page on the Good Food portal.
