As part of the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) strategy, the European Union and the Brussels-Capital Region are supporting visit.brussels in the development of two structuring projects aimed at transforming the public experience in Brussels: 

• AI-assisted translation in museums, to break down language barriers and make cultural institutions more accessible and inclusive.

• The Brussels Smart City Card, an all-in-one digital card for easy access to a wide range of tourist, cultural and mobility services.

These two projects come under specific objective 1.2 of the ERDF, which is entitled ‘Reaping the full benefits of digitisation for citizens, businesses and public authorities’. These projects aim to harness digital technologies to improve visitor experience, boost the efficiency of public services and support innovation among local players. They promote accessibility, connectivity and the use of data in the public interest.
