Meet the Writer: Asmaa Azaizeh
Palestinian poet Asmaa Azaizeh presents Don't Believe Me if I Talked to You of War, a poignant, poetic-musical performance. This multilayered piece centres on her powerful poems, in which personal and collective histories converge to lay bare questions of hope, violence, and identity.
Musician Haya Zaatry accompanies Azaizeh, and her vocals, guitar and electronic sounds add an extra dimension to the performance.
Following the performance, Azaizeh will take part in a conversation with Brigitte Herremans about her poetic practice, which was translated into French last year, following earlier translations into Swedish and Dutch.
Previously presented at festivals, including Avignon, this international production brings together poetry and music in an intimate and compelling experience. A unique encounter between language and sound that lingers long after the performance has ended.

Instead of turning pages like a real magazine, Live Magazine was created for the stage and a live audience. No recording, zero replay. Everything happens in the here and now. It's a living, ephemeral magazine that leaves no traces. Journalists, photographers, film directors and artists take to the stage to share their take on the world, with stories that are 99% true and 100% untold. They share stories using images, sounds, words, music that are fun, crazy, fundamental for the storytellers and unforgettable for the listeners.

TUTU (Miles Electric Sextet)
I was barely 20 when TUTU came out. It blew my mind. I’d come from a rock background – the Stones, Prince… and then, suddenly, Miles Davis. Nearly forty years later, TUTU has come back to haunt me. With a line-up of six musicians, the project revisits this electric and fiercely modern period in Miles Davis’s career, using TUTU as a starting point and Marcus Miller as a guiding light. Here, there’s no question of reproducing the album note for note. Instead, we rediscover the spirit of Miles’s live performances: a riff, a groove, a cue… and the music can shift at any moment. TUTU is jazz that draws on funk, rock and electronic music. It’s tense, free and physical music, where listening and the groove are paramount. And above all, there’s one desire: to recapture on stage that incredible sense of danger that characterised Miles Davis’s music.

"FORGETTEN" Concert
How do we move from oblivion to remembrance?
Here is the programme for the opening concert of the 2026–2027 season of Concerts Escapades, following our participation in the Musique Femmes Festival #4.
Who is familiar with Khachaturian, Schmitt, Tchaikovsky and Ysaÿe? An Armenian, a Frenchman, Tchaikovsky – whom you think you know – and the Belgian, Eugène.
Aram Ilyich Khachaturian was from Moscow, but above all an Armenian and a composer.
Boris Alexandrovich Tchaikovsky was from Moscow, Russian, and should not be confused with the very famous Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
Florent Schmitt was French.
Eugène Ysaÿe was Belgian, a violinist, born in Liège and died in Forest. He played a decisive role in the methodology of the Russian school of violin.
Four composers from the 19th and 20th centuries, some well-known and others less so.
Performed by the musical duo Gleb Gladkov (violin) and Flavien Casaccio (piano) in their new project entitled “The Forgotten”, inspired by the music of Karen Khachaturian, Florent Schmitt, Boris Tchaikovsky, Eugène Ysaÿe, and others.
We invite you to attend this wonderful and varied programme

Je suis un voleur • Loutfi Chama Fabrice Murgia
A life spent almost entirely in a state of confinement. Since childhood, Loutfi, aged 44, has gone from one institution to another
Fabrice Murgia returns to the Théâtre National with a production that combines an epic scope with the realism of a deeply immersive narrative.
A life spent almost entirely in a state of confinement. Since childhood, Loutfi, aged 44, has gone from one institution to another: sent to a care centre at the age of 2 on the initiative of social services, he was subsequently put through a series of institutions for minors before being sent to prison several times for petty crimes. His meeting with Fabrice Murgia sparked the idea of telling his story, a necessary step towards finally managing to deal with life ‘on the outside’.
Designed for an intimate stage setting, in close proximity to the audience, Je suis un voleur unfolds the episodes of Loutfi’s past as a series of scenes brought to life by the performers. This unique, almost novelistic journey sheds light on a whole facet of life in detention centres, a violent, dead-end world that still deserves our attention today.

Gaspard Melville - Bruxelles Chaos
House of Memory / by Basil Al-Rawi
A VR journey through archives and Iraqi stories.
House of Memory / is an immersive Virtual Reality experience by artist Basil Al-Rawi. Based on photographs and oral testimonies from the Iraq Photo Archive, he transforms archival material into a virtual space where memories can be revisited and explored.
In this 15-minute experience, you encounter personal stories of Iraq in the 1970s, as remembered by those who lived there. Through voices and images, Iraq emerges as a space of cultural richness and everyday life, shaped by memory and displacement of its people. The work offers a rare perspective on Iraqi history and diaspora experience.
Basil Al-Rawi works across photography, moving images, sculpture and digital technologies, exploring memory, identity and archival storytelling. The project was developed as part of his PhD research at the Glasgow School of Art.
House of Memory is part of Ireland's cultural programme for the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

William Kentridge - I am not me, the horse is not mine
William Kentridge began his artistic career at the height of the political struggle against the apartheid regime in his native South Africa. His work bears witness to a profound commitment – at once social, political and poetic – that continues to shape his artistic practice to this day.
Kentridge’s artistic output ranges from drawings, animated films and sculptures to prints, installations and videos. These works often emerge while he is directing a theatre or opera production, another field to which he devotes his energies. I am not me, the horse is not mine, William Kentridge’s solo exhibition at Bozar, offers a comprehensive overview of his oeuvre from the early 1980s to the present day. Several of his major stage productions receive special attention. The exhibition highlights the performative and collaborative nature of Kentridge’s practice, in which he allows art to evolve into a space for political inquiry, historical reckoning and poetic transformation.
William Kentridge will take over one of Bozar’s major exhibition spaces, create site-specific works, and curate a rich, multidisciplinary programme. This is by no means the first time we have welcomed Kentridge to Brussels. He has a long-standing connection with the city, where he premiered his first opera (Faustus in Africa! 1995), and where Bozar presented his first solo exhibition in Europe in 1998.
