The Grand Palace – Brussels Expo
Looking for an Art Deco venue in Brussels? Brussels Expo immediately comes to mind. The iconic Heysel halls, built for the 1935 Brussels International Exposition, remain the largest event complex in the Brussels-Capital Region. With 115,000m² of space, twelve halls and as many meeting rooms, the site accommodates major trade fairs, exhibitions and shows. ING Arena, formerly Palace 12, with a capacity of up to 15,000 people, and Auditorium 2000, which can host 2,000 guests, highlight the impressive scale and versatility of this venue.
The Grand Palace, originally part of a complex of twelve halls, remains a lasting symbol of the 1935 International Exposition. Today, five halls still stand, each showcasing their distinctive, stately Art Deco architecture.
The National Basilica of the Sacred Heart
This masterpiece by architect Albert Van Huffel is an iconic Brussels monument. Measuring 164m long, 107m wide and 93m high, it is the largest Art Deco building in the world. Construction began in 1905 and lasted until 1970. The original neo-Gothic design was replaced after World War I by the avant-garde style of the time: Art Deco. Notable features include the ochre-coloured terracotta cladding and the massive copper dome weighing 43,000 tonnes.
The basilica is much more than just a church. With seating for 1,500 to 2,000 people, it regularly hosts exhibitions and concerts. Moreover, this monumental space houses two museums, a scouting association, Scrabble clubs and even a speleology club. The breathtaking panoramic view of Brussels from the outdoor gallery at 53m up adds an extra touch of grandeur to any event.
Résidence Palace - International Press Center
Upon entering the Residence Palace, you are immediately immersed in the world of Art Deco. This iconic 1920s building, designed by master architect Michel Polak, is located right next to the key European institutions. The majestic white stone façade, the sky-blue mosaic fountain in the entrance hall and the impressive marble staircase bring the grandeur of the past back to life.
With 10 event spaces, the Residence Palace can accommodate both small meetings and larger gatherings. The building can host up to 150 people in a theatre setup and up to 300 for larger events. The largest hall, covering 250m², is ideal for conferences. The unique atmosphere of this venue will undoubtedly add an extra dimension to your event.
Albert Hall
Celebrating something special? This former neighbourhood cinema and ballroom, located in the heart of the European Quarter, is the perfect setting for your reception, gala, or concert. Built in the 1930s by architect Arthur Meuleman in the Egyptian-inspired Art Deco style, this 2,500m² venue seamlessly combines historic charm with modern technology. With three large halls and five smaller rooms, the space can host up to 600 guests. Authentic elements, such as the vestibule with its original 1930s ticket booth, the grand staircase and the gallery, have been carefully preserved, ensuring a unique and elegant atmosphere for any occasion.
