Industrial venues for events in Brussels

Brussels is a city with industry that keeps its heritage alive and which you can make lively with your event. Take the opportunity of staging it in an industrial venue available all around the city and in its surroundings.

Old markets with new mission

Built in 1865, and rebuilt in 1901 after a fire, Halles de Scharbeek is a cultural centre focused on  music, dance, circus and performance arts, that keeps its open and interdisciplinary character also for congresses and meetings. Combine your event in this venue or make your own at Area 42 next door, with all its design experience.

Above Tour & Taxis, the former drinks distribution centre of BYRRH is today host of BE-HERE. A sustainable village in the city, a lively hub of social and circular economy businesses, with meeting rooms and a its market space available for organised events or less formal gatherings, thanks to the presence of a brewery, catering spot or chocolate manufacturer.

In the city centre, the former wine palace in an Art Nouveau style of Les Ateliers des Tanneurs, hosts a business centre, an organic market and a restaurant, and with two halls and four meeting rooms, gives an opportunity for all kind of events.

A farewell to arms

With a tour easy to see when walking around the canal, the Tour à Plomb site in the heart of the city, is a neighbourhood centre in the commune of the City of Brussels. The powder magazine site was created in 1832, and the tower of a foundry was built in 1898. It lost its industrial function in the early 1960s, but its current cultural repurposing only happened in 2018. With a long bar, the venue is available for rent and also hosts lectures, creative workshops, and other cultural treats.

The Arsenal site offers a wide ranging experience for meetings, with large facilities at two main halls, La Chaufferie, spread over various floors, and La Maison du Bois, with a large modulable surface, as well as seminar venues at ICAB – Business and Technology incubator, a relax beer treat at the CoHop brewery and a lunch or dinner at Le Mess restaurant.

Breweries

Once the biggest brewery in Europe, built in 1930, Wiels in the Forest district is today a contemporary art centre that proudly shows its industrial heritage with the brewing hall with its copper vats, tiling, windows and special light (Recognised with an Europa Nostra prize).

In the city centre, the Brasserie Surrealiste, has become owner of a former fruit distribution centre and a hat factory. On its ground and upper floors diverse events may be organised, combined with all the craftsmanship of its brewmasters and restaurant cooks.

Planning a big event? A music party? Need a large space? Silo Brussels may be the location you need. Located in the north of Brussels, the former Marly brewery and malting site, will give you the opportunity of using two large halls, as well as a rooftop with a view over Brussels.

North by North East and South by South West

Looking for a venue closer to the airport or Brussels ring north side? Have an immersive trip in the rail history at TrainWorld, at the revival of an industrial zone at the Dome eventhall, a view on Brussels from Silo.Brussels, or use the facilities of a former paper mill factory at Quartier Papier or of a former coffee roastery at Hi!Site.

Close to Midi train station, the industrial hall of The Egg is a large venue able to host presentations, conferences and exhibitions that may gather a large international audience. On the other side of the rails, in Saint Gilles district, a former industrial factory has become “La Tricoterie”. Make the right ties during your event at one of the seven multi-purpose and modular spaces.

Less formal

Wishing to have a less formal setup or a spontaneous meeting comes up to your agenda? Take the opportunity of different rooms at Au Bassin or of the courtyard of the Halles Saint Gery in the city centre.

If you still need more space, then Gare Maritime with the Maison de la Poste and the Sheds at Tour & Taxis may be the place you are looking for.
