Objectives

The Brussels-Capital Region has put the Shifting Economy at the heart of its strategy, with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality for its economic activities by 2050. In its strategy, the government defined the concept of "socially and environmentally friendly business", based on international benchmarks such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It also drew inspiration from the European Union's Green Deal.

Using these benchmarks, the region developed criteria to encourage Brussels businesses to take social and/or environmental responsibility and to be able to prove it.

To encourage economic transition on its own scale, the region will gradually redirect its resources towards ecologically and socially 'exemplary' businesses.

From April 2024, companies participating in an economic transition process and recognised as 'exemplary' in social and/or environmental terms will receive more financial support: another reason to take part in the transition.

Practical info:

All you need to do is obtain a label, certification or accreditation approved by the Brussels-Capital Region.

visit.brussels will then add you to its list of Sustainable Partners. You will then be listed in search engines on the website and referred to in various publications. You will also receive a 'Sustainable Partner' sticker to hang up in your location.
