The Brussels Smart City Card

A strategic initiative spearheaded by visit.brussels

visit.brussels is developing the Brussels Smart City Card, an ambitious project supported by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) as part of the Brussels-Capital Region's 2021-2027 programme, which is supported by the European Union.

This initiative aims to transform the visitor experience with a 100% digital, all-in-one card providing access to a wide range of services: public transport, shared mobility, museums, attractions, guided tours, restaurants, ticket sales and commercial offers.

This project will contribute to enhancing Brussels' attractiveness, supporting local tourism stakeholders and promoting more sustainable mobility.

A new product, a wider vision

The Brussels Smart City Card isn’t limited to just an evolution of the existing offer. This is a new product that has been completely redesigned to meet the new expectations of visitors and the intermodal and digital tourism standards of Europe's major cities.

The current Brussels Card will be integrated into this new solution, alongside a wider range of cultural and mobility services.

The project’s objectives

With support from the ERDF and the European Union, visit.brussels is developing a high added value product, which aims to:

  • modernise and enhance Brussels' tourist offering via a comprehensive, intermodal digital platform;

  • increase tourism and cultural consumption by promoting a better distribution of visitor flows and enhancing the value of the entire region;

  • boost local tourism by supporting the ecosystem of cultural, commercial and mobility stakeholders;

  • offer an innovative, seamless and personalised user experience tailored to the current expectations of visitors.
