Opened in 1892, the Ixelles Museum has always paid close attention to the art of its time. Its collections highlight Belgian art from the 19th century to the present day, blending historical works with contemporary creations in a beautiful dialogue of memory and innovation. The museum’s collection of 15,000 works includes numerous gems, such as pieces by Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso and Max Ernst. In March 2027, following several years of renovation and a major expansion project, the Ixelles-based institution will embark on a new chapter. It will position itself as a museum on a human scale, engaged with the present, which breaks down barriers between narratives and amplifies diverse voices!
