A documentary unlike any other—a film-within-a-film that explores the gay scene in France in the mid-1970s. We never get to see the handsome and unsettling Johan, and for good reason: Johan is in prison. He was supposed to be the lead actor in the film a young filmmaker wants to shoot. He tries to find a replacement for Johan, wandering through Paris with his camera, capturing a gay community that was still largely underground. Part docu-fiction, part video diary, this work is about romantic and sexual fantasies.
