SAOUTA is a contemporary jazz quartet that brings together oud, soprano saxophone, double bass and Middle Eastern percussion in a musical dialogue where Arab traditions, contemporary jazz and free improvisation converge. Founded in Brussels by the encounter between Damien Brassart and Akram Ben Romdhane, the ensemble has developed a collective musical language rooted in attentive listening, movement and the present moment. Blending composed material with improvisation, SAOUTA creates immersive sonic landscapes in which each instrument becomes an equal voice. Their new repertoire, Traces, explores memory, transmission and invisible heritage through organic, evolving compositions. Each piece reflects on the gestures, stories and emotions that shape us, transforming them into a shared musical experience. The result is an evocative performance that invites audiences to travel through sound, where tradition and innovation meet in constant dialogue.
