Drawings on the Wall The motifs on the rolls of wallpaper that adorn our interiors are each traces of the passage of time, and form part of our social and aesthetic past. Choreographer, dancer, performer and video artist, Astéro Styliani Lamprinou, whose work is rooted in architecture and surrealism, draws inspiration from prints ranging from the Baroque period to the 1970s, taking in the Roaring Twenties and the 1950s along the way. She thus offers a journey through time as a succession of transformations, like wallpaper that is replaced, pasted over and peeling away. At the intersection of dance and performance, WALLPAPER moves from nothingness towards full, expansive surfaces that change in texture and colour as the years pass. A metaphor for a society in constant evolution.
