ClubMediéval returns to CSBF for the second time, this time in a co-production with Bozar, exploring the intimate, melancholic side of Emperor Charles V through his musical tastes and contrasting his vast global empire with the quiet, reflective songs found in his courtiers' travel songbooks. The ensemble invites audiences to experience the emperor's world through surviving personal artifacts and the resonant sounds of his era. Dionysos Now! explores the rich musical heritage of the Renaissance and Baroque courts in Brussels, reconstructed from archival records that survived the 1731 Coudenberg Palace fire. Spanning 120 years, it features works by composers connected to the royal chapel under Mary of Hungary and Emperor Charles V, including Pedro Ruimonte, Peter Philips, Crispinus van Stappen, Johannes Ghiselin-Verbonnet, Benedictus Appenzeller, Thomas Crecquillon, Lupus Hellinck, and Adriaen Willaert.
