L’air et l’être is an exhibition composed of oil paintings and a spatial installation. The presentation brings together works that evoke impressions of infancy and the maternal body, alongside an installation structured through light and spatial composition, creating an environment in which visitors can physically experience the condition of being. Through monumental compositions and an immersive approach, Yuko Nakaya transforms the exhibition space into a place of contemplation and perception where the boundaries between painting, architecture, and bodily experience become blurred. The exhibition will be fully open to the public free of charge, offering residents and visitors an accessible cultural experience. A performance will take place during the opening reception to encourage dialogue. As a project building a bridge between Japan and Belgium, L’air et l’être seeks to foster intercultural dialogue within Brussels’ multicultural environment and encourage active public engagement.
