Hugues Renier was born in Africa and travelled the world before settling in Belgium. The artist was given a white wall to express himself on one of the most popular squares in Jette. The fresco ’Genesis and Blooming’ (2012) is made up of 80 one-square-metre slabs manufactured by a Brussels enamel workshop. In the bottom left corner, the author meets his pen on a bench. His ideas fly away, represented by countless coloured fountain pens. Everyone can make them their own, pass them around or embellish them as they please. Renier invites local residents to find their place on this poetic wall.
