Four works in the park take you on a journey back in time. The statue of Cinderella (1881) shows the young girl dreaming by a fire. The universal myth of the child rising from the ashes to the throne fits in well with this era when everything seems possible. Eve and the Serpent (1890) recalls this nostalgia for Paradise. Maternity (Maurice de Korte, 1949) is more modern, with its stripped-down shapes. Finally, the tribute to the hero Philippe Baucq is a concrete slab evoking a man dying under gunfire. The monument was created by Jacques Nisot in 1974.
