A mural spanning the entire height of the house summarises Anderlecht’s key attractions: not only the town hall is depicted, but also the beguinage and the Collegiate Church of Saint Guido. The cat, the ball and the bull refer to the Veeweyde animal shelter, the local football club and the abattoirs, respectively. The title of this mural from 2004 is Anderlecht Concerto. It was created by Jean-Marc Collier, because it bothered him that the 19th-century town hall turned its rear to the old city centre. He therefore painted the building’s façade on the back of one of the nearby houses so that it would be visible to anyone approaching the centre of Cureghem from Anderlecht. Collier’s wife is also portrayed on this mural. Can you find her?
