The former Citroën garage is a prime example of industrial Art Deco architecture. The building was erected in 1933 by Alexis Dumont and designed by André Citroën himself. At the time, it was the largest garage in Europe. The large glass roof draws the eye up to the top of the boulevard. Citroën, a French industrialist, invented the showroom concept. In 2015 the former garage was transformed into a contemporary art centre. Cars were replaced by frames. Horns by concerts. Windscreens by creative art. Fewer brakes, more accelerators. More than a gigantic museum, the aim is to create a space where all Brussels residents can enjoy culture.
