Place Reine Astrid is the beating heart of Jette, with its boutiques, bistros and impressive Sunday market. The locals like to call it the ‘Miroir’ square, in reference to an old popular bistro. The yellow-bricks houses are typical of the 1950s, when the square was built. In 2021, ten colourful bins appeared on the square. They were decorated by the artist Mino One. The idea behind these bins is to raise awareness of public cleanliness. If a bin looks good, people may want to go near it.
