This industrial landscape almost at the heart of the city makes the Vergote dock look quite unusual. Mountains of car shells, pyramids of sand and mechanical contraptions. The place takes your imagination to dystopic worlds yet retains a hint of the North Sea. Seagulls tear apart food left by passers-by and fly off to nest near the industrial sites. Perhaps on the roof of the Belgian Compagnie des Ciments, whose façade is covered by a Hell’o Monsters mural reminiscent of Picasso.
