Yet another example of industrial architecture that does not eschew aesthetics. It’s the former bottling plant for the drinks brand Byrrh. This sort of French vermouth wanted its name to allude to beer, as an alternative to it. The 1923 eclectic architecture is inspired by the picturesque style of Southern France. The granite walls were easy to hang the latest promotions on. The beauty of the mosaics impresses the drink’s flavour on the eyes of passers-by. The old warehouse is now home to BeHere. A sustainable and participative village in Laeken. An organic market, events, yoga workshops and bikes!
