Cureghem once boasted a college of veterinary medicine. Its students were instructed in one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, built between 1903 and 1909. Don’t be hesitant and walk through the black gate on rue des Vétérinaires 45-49, where you will stand amazed at the numerous pavilions in Flemish Neo-Renaissance style – set in a park where even the trees are listed monuments. To the right, you will see the pavilion where the residents of Anderlecht could have their pets treated, and in the centre the imposing Great Clinic where operations were performed on livestock. In the meantime, the municipal council of Anderlecht has renovated the central administrative building on the street side and has transformed it into a business centre. All the other pavilions have also been restored and transformed into lofts.
