Le Poste is a new third place launched in March 2025 by the non-profit organisation Géopolis, housed in the former fire station on Place du Jeu de Balle, in the heart of the Marolles district in Brussels. This iconic 19th-century building, designed by Joseph Poelaert (the renowned architect behind the Palace of Justice), once served the city’s firefighters and has now been given a new lease on life, reimagined as a plural, open space connected to the city. A truly hybrid venue, Le Poste is dedicated during the week to media education, radio training, and content production. It notably hosts the Brussels studios of the Euradio network. The launch of this new hub extends the work undertaken by Géopolis since 2017, notably through its photojournalism centre located just a few steps away, which presents a new thematic exhibition cycle every two months, featuring both renowned photojournalists and emerging talents. On Thursday and Friday evenings, and Sunday afternoons, Le Poste shifts atmosphere and becomes a concert café. Throughout the year, it offers an eclectic and inclusive programme—including its now-famous jam sessions—featuring live public radio broadcasts, discussions, and a wide range of cultural events. Le Poste is also available for hire for all types of events, offering four flexible and fully equipped spaces: - A large hall on the ground floor, - A vaulted room, - Two bright glass-roofed spaces, - It also features a spacious terrace, nestled in a beautiful paved inner courtyard. Each space can accommodate 25 to 45 people, with a direct view over Place du Jeu de Balle, known for its daily flea market and famously featured in The Secret of the Unicorn.
