The Line 28 Park is part of the vibrant new green face at the junction of the maritime district and Laeken, to the north of the new Tour et Taxis district. The old disused railway lines, including Line 28, which linked the Brussels-Midi and Schaerbeek stations, left some land abandoned. Several successive phases of development have transformed this wasteland into a green space of over 6 hectares, providing a pedestrian and cycle link between Belgica and Bockstael, via Pannenhuis. The site's railway history is evoked, particularly between Pannenhuis and Belgica, with the presence of old platform walls, catenary doors, an old wagon and play areas using the old rails. The park as a whole is dotted with play areas, sports zones and a variety of relaxation areas to meet the needs of all, while reinforcing the regional green network. The Ligne 28 park is also home to a dynamic civic activity with the Parckfarm non-profit association, whose greenhouse and vegetable gardens, located in the centre of the park, host events, workshops, meetings and discussions.
