This is Miss Television IV, a bronze sculpture by Olivier Strebelle dating back to 1980. Many of the artist’s works are exhibited in public spaces around the world. Strebelle was known to create multiple versions of the same subject. The other Misses can be found in Antwerp and the United States. As is often the case, Strebelle muddies the waters with the enigmatic name of his work. What does this Miss do? Is she a star? Or perhaps a weary spectator? Is she waiting for a cathodic promise?
