The beautiful semi-circular abbey of Forest was founded in the 12th century and is known for its turbulent past - from fires to looting and revolutions. Most of the site dates from the 18th century. In the 20th century, it was abandoned and slowly fell into disrepair. The neighbouring car manufacturer even used it to house its meeting rooms. The abbey will soon be given a new lease of life through the ABŸ project, which will turn it into a cultural centre. The shift from religion to culture is all about change - a future with a nod to the past.
