Parvis Saint-Pierre is the commercial and administrative heart of the municipality and above all a historical landmark. It is also a meeting place for the wealthy from the east and those from the more working-class districts in the west. Not to mention the residents from all over Europe, who make up a fifth of the local population. Saint Peter's Church dates from the late 18th century, when Belgium was still under Austrian rule. The Neoclassical building of the former Justice of the Peace Court behind the church will soon become a theatre. Pleas will give way to plays. What a change!
