Laeken cemetery is one of the largest in Brussels. Let yourself be enchanted by the atmosphere surrounding this garden of bones, and observe the sadness of these mourners whose tears are frozen in bronze. It’s a sort of Brussels Père Lachaise, with the tombs of a few historical figures. These include the grave of Joseph Dillen, an art merchant, who wanted to make himself immortal by asking the famous sculptor Rodin to create a Thinker. It was apposite. A cemetery is only really alive in thoughts.
