Another Art Nouveau building. Once again by Victor Horta, who was definitely in his prime in the late 19th century. Hôtel Solvay is a dazzling sight. In 1894, the son of the industrialist Ernest Solvay was enthusiastic about this new architectural trend. He commissioned Horta to design this hotel, with no limits to his budget. Horta gave free rein to his creativity: façade ornaments, furniture, marble, chandeliers, carpets... You name it. He also took advantage of the most modern techniques of the time. This undoubtedly pleased this family of inventors. Today, industry leaders fancy themselves astronauts. Back then, they focused on art.
