Place Van Huffel is just as impressive as the works of the architect of the basilica whose name it bears. Saint Anne’s Church is just as intriguing as its famous neighbour, but with a modern edge. The striped patterns are characteristic of the 1980s. Built in 1990, the building replaced the former neo-Gothic church. It faces the town hall from 1882 - a scene reminiscent of a Don Camillo film. Perhaps in order to look more modern than the church, its facade was redesigned in 1939 in the Art Deco style. Of course, today, it could do with a refresh. Time for round two?
