Urbanisa'son is a Belgian non-profit organisation that was set up in 2007 to develop participatory sound tools to encourage and promote cultural democracy in neighbourhoods. The association uses sound creation primarily to question, document and develop thinking around notions of territory (whether tangible or not) and public space, but also to collect and free up the voices of all people, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable groups. The association offers independent creations, creative workshops on self-expression and/or media and citizenship education, and training courses for the general public. These workshops result in a range of sound and/or artistic creations, presented to a wider public at special events, in the form of performances, installations, exhibitions, radio broadcasts and educational, cultural or interactive tools.
