The “Schlumberger” site is an emblematic industrial building listed in the architectural heritage inventory. Built in the 1920s–1930s and marked by Art Deco and Functionalist styles, it bears witness to Brussels’ industrial past. Today, at the heart of an urban renewal project, it welcomes new uses that intertwine heritage and innovation. Continuing in this spirit, Vaisseau Mère is developing the WAW, a 1,700 m² multidisciplinary artist residency space hosting 60 collectives and/or artists — conceived as a laboratory for experimentation, exchange, and artistic sharing. The WAW breathes new life into the former factory, offering a space dedicated to artists, the public, and encounters between heritage and contemporary creation.
