More and more people are beginning to understand that travelling by bike in the capital holds many advantages. This is despite there being efforts that still need to be made around cyclists’ safety and comfort. In support for those who love riding their bikes, we have compiled a list of unmissable cycling hotspots in our capital. No more excuses, get on your bike!
The city centre, a hotbed for bike shops
There’s certainly no shortage of bike shops in the city centre! We’ve listed some of the best shops within the inner ring road.
Lucien
Are you looking for a shop in the heart of Brussels, with a great selection of bikes and all kinds of accessories? One that prides itself on quality and attention to detail? Then this is the place for you! From folding bikes and e-bikes to cargo bikes and sleek, stylish city bikes, Lucien – formerly Velofixer – has it all! A must!

Velodroom
Open since 1998, this shop is a benchmark for the capital's cycling enthusiasts. At Velodroom, they believe that cycling is the most practical way to get from one place to another. The shop, therefore, primarily sells city bikes, but also offers a range of cargo bikes, with their obvious practicality. The shop also stocks a wide variety of related items: clothing, accessories, luggage, child seats, and more.

Cyclo
Starting out as a small non-profit organisation in the early 2000s, CyCLO now has nine workshops in the capital. Known as ‘Points Vélos’ (Bicycle Points), these workshops are primarily located in the city centre and can be found at the four main railway stations (Central, North, South and Luxembourg). The association is also known for its social commitment, having developed a bicycle mechanics training programme for jobseekers. At CyCLO, you will always be welcomed with a smile!

Cycloperativa
Here, they don't sell bikes... it's a bike workshop located in the Anneessens neighbourhood, between the Bourse and Brussels South station. La Cycloperativa, is a non-profit organisation where you can learn about and repair your bike, with guidance from specialists. In practice: you turn up with your bike at the workshop, which is open every Monday from 18:00 to 21:00. Once there, in addition to getting advice, you’ll find a space set up for bike repairs, tools available free of charge, and, if needed, new or second-hand parts (inner tubes, cables, etc.) at very affordable prices. But above all, you get to enjoy a friendly atmosphere and perhaps even a nice beer! In short, you always have a great time, and on top of that you leave with a repaired bike for a bargain price! If you like getting your hands dirty, head on over!

Coureur Brussels
This shop was opened by two cycling enthusiasts. The shop’s location, on a quiet side street of the city centre, is a real bonus in itself... and the standard bike sales and repair services are high quality and delivered with a personalised touch. Coureur Brussels stands out by offering services that go above and beyond: fitness testing, coaching and even online sales. If you’re looking to refresh your approach to cycling, this is the place to be!

Cyclonative
Cyclonative had the bright idea of setting up shop in the Marolles district, not far from place du Jeu de Balle, where bike shops are few and far between. The shop offers a wide selection of new bikes of all brands and reconditioned ones too. Their guiding principle? The belief that, in most cases, the bicycle is the best way to get around the city, combining environmental and health benefits. Simple and effective.

Just outside the city centre, you can't miss this bike shop, which strives to meet customers’ needs without pressuring them into buying!
