More and more people are beginning to understand that travelling by bike in the capital holds many advantages. This is despite there being efforts that still need to be made around cyclists’ safety and comfort. In support for those who love riding their bikes, we have compiled a list of unmissable cycling hotspots in our capital. No more excuses, get on your bike!

Morning Cycles

Having opened in the city's lively European quarter in 2018, Morning Cycles offers, alongside the usual bike repair and retail services, its own vision of the cycling universe. Their bike offering is geared towards accommodating the specific needs of each individual rider, ascertained through prior consultation. What's more, Morning Cycles has brands you won't find anywhere else, chosen for their simplicity, quality and durability. It’s a definite must!

Located on the edge of the city centre, Magic Vélos puts the needs of the customer first, without pressuring them into spending all of their money!

Bike Avenue

Bike Avenue already had a shop at Ma Campagne in Saint Gilles and has recently opened a new one on place de l'Yser in the city centre. Here you'll find all types of bikes and a wide range of brands! The shop window looks very promising and invites you in to explore further! A must!

Opened in 1998, this bike shop is an essential stop for Brussels cyclists. The original intention was to establish the bicycle's place on Brussels' roads. In just over 20 years, minds have been shifting in this positive direction...

At Velodroom, they believe that cycling is the most convenient way to get from one place to another. As a result, the shop primarily stocks city bikes, with a high-quality range that also includes cargo bikes, which have grown in popularity in Brussels in recent years, whether used for transporting children or cargo. The shop also offers a wide range of cycling equipment, including clothing, accessories, bike bags and child seats.

No bikes are sold here. Cycloperativa is a bike workshop located in the Anneessens district, between Bourse and Brussels-Midi station. They are a non-profit organisation run by bike specialists that teach people how to repair their own bikes. The concept is as follows: you bring your bike to the workshop, which opens one evening a week, every Monday from 18:00 to 21:00. There, along with advice, you are given access to a fully equipped bike repair space, free tools and, if required, new or second-hand parts (inner tubes, cables, etc.) at a more than affordable price.

More importantly, be sure to soak up the nice atmosphere, perhaps even with a beer! In short, the aim is to have a good time and to come away with a fully repaired bike for a ridiculously low price! If you enjoy getting your hands dirty, this is the place!

Coureur Brussels

This shop was recently opened by two bike fanatics. The shop’s location, down a small street in the city centre, is in itself already quite endearing... The usual bike sales and repair services are of high quality and delivered with a personal approach.

What makes Coureur Brussels stand out is that it offers services that are somewhat out of the ordinary, including exercise testing, coaching and online sales.

If you want to rediscover your passion for cycling, this is the place to do so!

Au Guidon Vert

This shop, located down a pedestrianised street just off place Jourdan, specialises in the sale and servicing of cargo bikes — mostly electric — for the needs of both families and business. Most major brands are on offer. For an optimised service, visits to the shop are made by appointment only.

If you have decided to get rid of your car in favour of a cargo bike, Au Guidon Vert is definitely the place to visit!

Vélo Pipette

Looking for a cycling address in the south of Brussels? Then go to Vélo Pipette! In this shop on the edge of the Sonian Forest you'll find everything: new classic bikes — city bikes, mountain bikes, folding bikes, children's bikes, etc. — and electric bikes, as well as second-hand bikes. The shop repairs and maintains bikes of all makes and models, and as a bonus you get a free replacement bike while yours is unavailable!

Bike Your City

Bike your city is a bike shop that offers all the usual sales, repair and maintenance services. However, the shop’s general approach and overall ethos go much further. Their aim is to make cycling a habit for as many people as possible, making riding through the city a much more pleasant daily experience, producing less CO2, less noise, less stress and more muscle! Their philosophy also encompasses certain ecological aspirations. The shop is decorated with wood and other recycled materials, and uses a sustainable wood stove to heat the building, etc.
In short, it’s a very aesthetic and world-conscious take on the humble bike shop.

La Maison du Vélo

La Maison du Vélo is Brussels’s go-to specialist for bicycle tourism and folding bicycles. That being said, the shop offers a wide range of bicycles suitable for both kids and adults, for the city and for adventure! The selection puts the emphasis on ‘quality and durable products, easy to repair and maintain and for which you will always find spare parts in the years to come’.

Please note that the company has two shops, the second of which is called ‘Vélophil’, located in Etterbeek.
