In Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, 'superdiversity' isn't just an empty concept. The smallest and most densely populated commune in Brussels is home to about a 153 nationalities that speak over sixty languages: it's a pocket-sized global village.
This walk also takes us to the squares, just a little further on. A place where the rich built their country houses near the ponds that were fed by the Maelbeek. The area remains rich and exuberant, but its population has changed: a lot of buildings around the parks now house lobbyists looking to live near the European Quarter.
