Dansaert

Downtonwn’s chic Dansaert district has always been one of the city’s fashion hubs. While many Belgian labels have given way to international brands, you'll still find a few home-grown gems. Made-to-measure, avant-garde, carefully selected vintage and big names in world fashion.

Too good to miss: Café Costume, STIJL, Els Vansteelandt, Komono, Isabelle Bajart, Essentiel Antwerp, ICON, Urban Therapy, Blender01, Think Twice, K-Way, IKKS, ba&sh...

Saint-Jacques

At the heart of the capital’s historical centre, the Saint-Jacques district (which gets its name from the famous pilgrimage route) is home to designer boutiques, trendy addresses, multi-brand shops with cutting-edge selections, vintage stores and even intimate boutique.

Sablon and the Marolles

Upmarket and popular. Two districts with two atmospheres that are as different as they are complementary. The chic Sablon is renowned for its antique shops, gourmet addresses and small-scale but high-quality shopping. Just down the road, in the Marolles, you can hunt for bargains to your heart's content at the famous place du Jeu de Balle flea market and stroll between vintage, second-hand and upcycling boutiques and shops selling furniture, decorative items and accessories. Some are nestled in old houses with surprising or remarkable architecture.

Too good to miss: Wittamer, dinh van, Costermans, Flamant, New De Wolf, Baobab, Au Bon Repos, Marcolini, COCO, Lunetier Ludovic, Melting Pot Kilo, Foxhole Vintage, Espace 161, Crevette Records, Les Savons de Lyna, Leysen...

Bailli-Châtelain

Posh and selective, the Bailli/Châtelain neighbourhood offers small boutiques with carefully selected items: clothes, shoes, accessories, handbags... Admittedly not always within the reach of everyone's budgets, but they do have the advantage of offering rarer items. You can even rent some pieces! Perfect for personalising your style in an instant.

Too good to miss: Hopono, Chouke, LILU, Mook's, AXL Jewelry store, MakeSenz, Coucou, Mook’s Shop, Mellow Concept, Blender02, Vybe Store, Rose, Chérie-Chérie…

Brussels' covered galleries and shopping centres

These prestigious galleries, inaugurated in 1847, are some of the oldest shopping galleries in the world. These covered halls offer a glove shop, a hat shop, leather goods, a multi-brand boutique, a concept store and a number of gourmet addresses.

Shopping centres

Is the weather forecast to rain on your parade? Or do you just prefer to have all your options under one roof? There are a number of shopping centres dotted around the capital where you can indulge in a little shopping in complete peace of mind. Last but not least, there's Docks Bruxsel an interweaving of buildings with different, eco-responsible architectural styles, sits along the canal.
